Hi everyone,

Being a water rat myself, I'm so glad Robynn mentioned getting medical approval

for swimming/aerobics. I didn't even pay attention to my warning flag when Tina

and Sherri mentioned going soon after surgery. I know I had to wait more than a

month after hammer-toe surgery a few years back. Good catch, Robynn!

aerobics was very low impact...but actually the drag and resistance that the

water creates is rather extreme, and it would be akin to lifting more than 20

lbs...which is something you aren't supposed to do until 4 to 6 weeks after. It

may be just fine for you guys to do it...I'm just worried you may get hernias

from the resistance. Perhaps you should just double check with your docs, if

you haven't already?

I know that, just a few days after I had my surgery, I emailed Doctor

Dutta, or maybe left a message for him, to find out if I could use my

elliptical trainer. He said that I could, but that if I got any pain in

the incisions, I should stop. He further said that, after I saw him for my

two week visit, I could do anything I wanted. Although it is probably all

right, it is a good idea to check with your surgeon. LaWanda At 02:18 PM
