I am with you on the lunch meat. When I first had surgery about 4 weeks after surgery I had eaten some ham and it got stuck in the pouch. I ended up in the ER for almost 6 hours with an IV because two hours after eating I could not drink anything without it coming back up that went on for 4 hours and finally I called the advise nurse and talked to her for a bit and it was decided that I needed to go in. When they were ready to admit me water finally stayed down and I was sent home. Since then if I do eat any type of lunch meat I have it sliced at the deli extremely thin not quite shaved but close to it. Since then I have not had any problems.

I also do have an occassional hot dog but they are the Ball Park Fat Free Turkey s. They are only 40 calories and do not give me indigestion.

Robynn,

The reason why it got stuck is because it was sliced a bit too thick. Even though I was very conscientious about the 30 times chewing it happened. Since I have it sliced extremely thin it hasn't bothered me since. My suggestion would be to have it sliced as thin as possible. It also is good to do in that it looks like you are getting more for your money because it makes more slices per ounce.

OK...the one thing that just isn't flying with me is lunchmeat. It just seems to lodge inside of me, no matter how hard I try to chew chew chew. I wind up in a burpathon...and I just spit up like a little baby. Damned turkey lunchmeat!! IT is low sugar, low fat...maybe the rind edging is getting to me? I'm on the verge of using the meat tenderizer though...OUCHIE POUCHIE. So much for dinner. (yes, it's late, but my internal clock is messed up...I'm starting to be coordinated with Paris time.) By the by.... is still unbelievably perfect. I'm craaaaaazy about the boy...or should I say, garcon?

I really love those - I think they are called Deli Select Combos - it comes with really really thin sliced meat and a matching cheese - it says it makes 4 hearty sandwiches - so it should last a while for those post op - I dont know how the pricing compares to the actual deli - but I buy it all the time.
