Guest guest
Anyways, I'm trying to follow the stages on Pecanbread.com, and I was wondering what the purpose of the Electrolyte drink was. Is this just fluid intake for kids, or is it something I've missed in the book that's really beneficial to the diet? Just wondering. IF you don't know, just say hello, it's nice to talk to somebody. Hello! =) I think I do know the purpose of the electrolyte drink though. It's just for if you're dehydrated from too much D, vomiting, etc... Since they don't want to you resort to gatorade or pedialyte *shudder* they put that recipe on there as an alternative. No benefit other than that that I'm aware of. Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds except for the stupid iron pill I have to take that is SO illegal

Though there may be a question as to whether you cannot handle it yet - but that is a different question than legality. Mara

I definitely fermented 24 hours in my yogourmet. But it kind of cooked my last batch of milk yogurt, had dried clumpy pieces stuck to the bottom. Bummer. I only made a quart of it, but it's almost gone. THere's another half gallon fermenting away right now, but that's raw cows milk (overtop pausterized of course). Keep on trucking, I love this diet. I've meant to give up white things for awhile now, and this is the first time I've ever done it. I want to keep it up, and it's exciting. If you want to get geeky - if you think the yogurt is overcooking some and that's why you are getting dry clumpy bits, measure the temperature about 10 hours in and then every 5 hours or so and if it is going a lot over 110, then buy a dimmer switch that will plug into both your appliance and the wall to control the temperature. > Bummer. Guest guest
Hi , Ya gotta stay away from *any* processed food. Later on, when your gut has healed some, you can make your own buffalo wings. Sorry you’re having a rotten day. It gets better – especially if you stay away from the illegals! Make sure the cream you are using for yogurt is only cream – no carageenan or other thickeners. The Electrolyte Drink is for dehydration. I drank it daily when I worked outdoors for my job. It saved me from heat exhaustion often. My dehydration issues seem to be diminishing, not sure why. I recently installed a Multi Pure Water Filter and also started LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone). Welcome to the conversation. What is your diagnosis? Guest guest
My diagnosis is Crohn's disease, so this year I had my first three surgeries for tricky fistulas. It hasn't been fun. I think staying positive and thinking healing thoughts is important, that's why I'm excited about SCD. Yeah, I'm slowing down on foods. just chicken and jello and cheesecake today, I think some soup for dinner. There's a lot of really tasty things you can do on SCD, I just need to be patient. Pecan bread has helped make sense of things, and I got a new Cookbook, Healing Foods, COoking for Celiacs, COlitis, Crohn's, and IBS. It has some pretty amazing recipes in it, I'd recommend it to any one. I'm looking forward to these fistulas healing, as I've read SCD does pretty well. It'll just take time. I'll definitely be making my own buffalo wings from now on, a month or so down the road. I'll give y'all the recipe!! jonathan > > Hi , Ya gotta stay away from *any* processed food.
