Guest guest
Yep, Elenor and Lucia, My feet kill me. I have z-coil shoes, they weigh a ton on my feet but work, I have orthotics, not as good as z-coils, I have pain so much going to see Randy at UCLA kicked my tail. The drive was forever, and the walk upstairs nearly did me in, I get cortizone shots.... when my surgery date comes I will be so grateful! Lugging this weoght around was not meant to happen to this body, the idea of less pain in my feet and hips is unimaginable.....but close at hand. My knees were very unhappy with me, probably related to the fact that I was carrying the equivalent of six 25 pound bags of potatoes in extra weight with every step. So we drove or rode buses everywhere. Fast forward six years to May of last year, when we returned to Yosemite, with our then almost four year old son. I was frustrated, because my morbidly obese husband and my son couldn't keep up with me! I wanted to get out and walk and go and do and really take in the beautiful scenery. We were in a hotel near the base of Yosemite Falls, and I ended up going on walks either early in the morning or in the evening, leaving the two party poopers to keep each other occupied!A couple of weeks ago I was in Washington state with hubby, son, and a bunch of post-op folks. One thing we did was go to a water park. I had never been to a water park, and the only water slides I had been on were the small ones into swimming pools in someone's back yard, and that was about a hundred years ago. So I tried waterslides. I LOVED them! Went again and again and again. I was told it was impossible for a California girl to come home from Washington state with a sunburn. Well, let me tell ya, I have the evidence peeling off my back and shoulders that it is indeed possible!Don't know if that helps or not. My take on things!Lucia wrote:>Thanks for the reply> I am going on 61, I am that senior and I hate >the limitation my weight, and bad knees have put on me.
