Hi Pam,

Hang in there girl...it's a lot easier to lose track than to keep the

momentum but there's certainly a reward once you give yourself and

your time to all this. I will keep you in my prayers. Everyone

deserves a chance to better their lives and their health. We are all

so close yet sometimes it feels so far away. I'm struggling with the

timing myself but the trick is to keep breathing.

I have not attended Lifestyle II - it just states that it's a Special

Needs class and from what my notebook says it's held the 1st, 2nd,

3rd Wed. of each month from 2:00-4:30.

Hope that helps,

Azin :))

Oh no!!! It's three times a month?! I will pray that I

can make it as I really would like to go... The trick

is now to find a respite care provider three times a

month. (great news is, the State pays for me to have

16 hours of respite care per month, bad news is that I

am unable to find anyone who can or is qualified to

watch my son for the measely $8.00 that they pay per

hour.) But where there is a will, there is definetly a

way! And baby, somehow I will make this happen!

Thanks for the e-mail Azin. And who knows, maybe we

will meet someday in the same Lifestyles II class...

Actually, , I've been going through this process

for about three years now... but it is completely

nobody's fault but that of my own!! In fact, Dr Stiles

said today that if I had simply lost the 10% three

years ago, I would, by now, have had the surgery and

been significantly less heavy. (I think that Dr Stiles

was a little disappointed in me, but that's OK as I am

disappointed in myself, too.)

Hi Pammmmmmmmm,

I'd double check how many times you'll be required to go each month.

Because all the classes are offered more than once a month. So you

might just need to go once a month for a couple of months...does that

make sense?

For example, the lifestyle 4 class which I will be attending next

Friday at SSF is offered twice a month 1st and 3rd Friday of each

month. I was scheduled to attend the 3rd Friday but asked if there

was room for me earlier in the month.

I'd just call the program to double check...Cheryl there has been a

gem at explaining things.

Good luck,

She also mentioned that their is no difference

between Lifestyle II, III, and 4 (I don't know the

Roman numeral for 4!), just given on different days of

the month.

Hi Pam!

Oh good, I think they are going to re-do the booklet they hand out

because a lot of the info has now changed. I was put on fast track

but I'm still going to majority of the classes. was a good

person to speak to she is Dr. Gity Baxter's right had woman. She is

at all the classes passing out name tags and taking people's weight.

Good luck with everything!

Azin

PS. 4 is IV ;)

Who really knows?!

At first it meant taking less classes (faster process because you

seem to be in generally good health) but I think they have changed

the ciriculum a bit and now I think you're just eligble to be put on

the cancelation list for an earlier surgery date once you've been

ok'd by your surgeon.

Got it.

By-the-way, for anyone who is interested, Kaiser SSF

no longer requires a 10% weight loss, just that you

lose 20 pounds. (Great News for those who are

struggling!) This information was given to me today by

Dr. Stiles from SSF. She also mentioned that not all

facilities have the same requirements, and that it is

up to the surgical staff as to how much should be lost

prior to surgery.

Pam, I of all people know how hard it is, as I have also been doing this for a couple years + now. Just try your best to be as strong as possible and don't allow your (or anyone elses) disappointment get in the way of your progress. If I can do this Pam, you can too. We'll do it together, okay? We're practically in the same boat here, so let's do it. :)

Re: Re: My SSF appt

Actually, , I've been going through this processfor about three years now... but it is completelynobody's fault but that of my own!! In fact, Dr Stilessaid today that if I had simply lost the 10% threeyears ago, I would, by now, have had the surgery andbeen significantly less heavy. (I think that Dr Stileswas a little disappointed in me, but that's OK as I amdisappointed in myself, too.)Pam--- Diane Duenas wrote:> You should be able to do the lifestlye and 6 month> pre simultaniously > I would think!!! Please note that this is the link for the RICHMOND binder, since theirs

is different from South San Francisco or Fremont. Thanks for the link

though!
