Guest guest
I choose to use toothpaste and fluoride mouthwash because they're important for oral health. I don't think Elaine intended for us to forego such things. > > Hey everybody, > > I'm aware that toothpastes are illegal to an extent. Guest guest
Toothpastes are not food. They are not illegal. Anyone over the age of 5 years who does not have a physical or mental disability does not swallow their toothpaste. Use your normal fluoride toothpaste. Baking soda is too abrasive for everyday use and will wear the enamel off your teeth. Terry the dentist Toothpaste alternatives? Hey everybody,I'm aware that toothpastes are illegal to an extent. Guest guest
Hey Mara, Dad is improved, home, on abx and steroids (sliding decreasing scale) and LDN. He had some kind of viral infection that knocked him on his butt and left him breathless ( literally). But he is a tough guy and is out and about socially and trying to figure out how to strap on the oxygen pack they gave him so he can go do the gardening. Thanks for asking. He gave me a horrible scare. Crest White Strips are the only OTC clinically proven to work. Otherwise, if the product contains 10-15% carbamide peroxide, it should work. All have the possibility to cause sensitivity--so it's advised to use Sensodyne or equivalent while using. Your dentifrice (tpaste) from Tropical traditions looks fine--my only reservation is the lack of fluoride(Fl2). You could brush your teeth with a dry toothbrush and floss, and you would be removing plaque. IMO, the tpaste is to deliver the Fl2, have some abrasive element and make it pleasant to brush and freshen breath. Regardless of some people's controversy with Fl2--as a topical med, it is not absorbed systemically and has value--even the guy from Weston Price agrees on that. When we are young and the enamel is immature, topical Fl2 protects the enamel. When we are older and have decreased saliva production, we need Fl2 to protect enamel and root surfaces that could be exposed to due to recession. If you follow it with a Fl2 rinse, I'd be happier. I am a great believer in topical Fl2, as I have seen the benefit firsthand in my practice. Regards, Terry
Guest guest
Anyone over the age of 5 years who does not have a physical or mental disability does not swallow their toothpaste. I bet we actually swallow more toothpaste than we know. Unless you brush face down over the sink the entire time, some is bound to come near the back of your throat, and the natural instinct is to swallow. I'm not saying we SHOULD stop brushing our teeth with toothpaste, but it does seem like a valid concern, IMO. Just like celiacs have to be sure not to use lipstick, etc...containing gluten, we should be aware of anything we might swallow that isn't necessarily food. Guest guest
The only thing that I agree with is that we should not be swallowing things that are not food. Guest guest
Thank you, i felt like i was being ganged up here, i have a valid concern, and i am more than convinced that a minute amount of it can be ingested while brushing. and as Elaine claimed in her book, even a tiny amount of any illegal can feed bacteria really well I'm simply weighing my alternatives here -MarcinJBK > > > Anyone over the age of 5 years who does not have a physical or > > mental disability does not swallow their toothpaste. > > I bet we actually swallow more toothpaste than we know.
