Guest guest
" When I got married 24 years ago I probably weighed about 185. Does that seem like a reasonable goal. I guess if I got under 200 I would be pretty thrilled. How do you establish a goal weight? " You bring up a good question Becki... Since predictions of weight loss for this surgery are 70-85% of our excess weight... Should our goal weight be in that 70-85% range or should out goal weight be our ideal weight? I've read that our bones are more dense and weigh more due to having to sustain more weight than the norm over the years. So that ordinarily, say a goal weight of 140, would not be practical. Maybe rather than a particular weight, maybe a size would be a more appropriate goal? Still leaves you with the question... how do you establish that goal? Just being under 200 would be heaven wouldnt it?! Guest guest
At 5' 3 " according to the insurance charts my Ideal weight should be between 105 and 116. This is of course insane. When I went to my consult with Dr. Hess he said I should end up weighing about 130. When I was taking Phen Fen my PCP said 150 and according to AMOS site BMI charts it is 141.
