My suggestion is that you don't take GSE for a while, a few months perhaps. Wait and see if your fever disappears and then give it a few more weeks or months before trying the GSE again. If and when you try it again, and get a similar reaction, then you'll know your body isn't tolerating the GSE.

I've dealt with a candida overgrowth without any antifungals. It takes longer, but just using food choices works to improve our gut ecology. I didn't have a choice, as any antifungal I swallowed triggered severe allergic symptoms, ended up in the ER several times.

I've found that supplements often cause worse or new symptoms, so I only take a few of the most critical ones that my body tolerates. I do pay close attention to my body's signals.

By the way, I had a chronic low-grade fever for 6 months before I was finally diagnosed with upper GI dysfunctions. Turns out I had a blocked common bile duct, among other things. As soon as that blockage was removed, my fever disappeared.

I'm not suggesting you have upper GI dysfunctions -- but a long-term fever is a sign of something amiss, and it is good that you are checking in with your doctors. Don't be afraid to seek other opinions, as well. If your fever doesn't disappear now that you have been off the GSE for a day or two, then you might need to look for other answers.

Sorry to ask again, but as there were no answer - and I'm not sure what to do.., would you recommend to go on with taking grapefruit seed extract? I would appreciate every help. The doctor I spoke today with about the whole thing still thinks it's just a virus that a lot of people do have problems with now and told me not to worry as long as the fever would not rise again (it's no more fever luckily, but still high temperature 37,6)C ... but the idea of Candida overgrowth, you can only find here at some naturopaths at all...
