Guest guest
Hi , Congratulations! Will you be flying or driving? I was going to do it by myself, but at the last minute my friend was able to come with me. She was definitely a life saver for me. It can be done by yourself, but it would be a lot easier if there was someone with you. You just have to count on the nurses more & I'm sure they're aware of that too. Cindy in Illinois did it by herself & flew home the day she was released. Maybe she'll write & give you some tips. (CINDY--ARE YOU OUT THERE?) ;-) It might be a good idea if you could stay a day or two to rest up a bit. If you're driving, plan on having to stop within about 5 hrs. I live 10 hrs. away & we went half way each day & it was all I could take. Riding was more difficult than I expected. It just really wears you out, but again...it can be done! Just take it easy. Let us know if you have anymore questions. Guest guest
i don't know yet how i'm getting down there. it's 650 miles, 12 hours driving. i'll probably have my dh or my mom, maybe a good friend. but if not, i'll just have to tough it out alone. > > i just heard from my insurance and they have approved my ds > surgery. > > i started crying with the lady on the phone! in fact i am still > > crying. i am so happy! now i have to talk with my dh to plan my > > trip. i don't know if i am going alone or with someone. has > anyone > > done this all by themselves, traveling out of state for the > surgery? > > dr. booth's office gal glen, says since it's being done lap, i > should > > be able to travel back home the same day i am released from the > > hospital. but i don't know if i want to rush off like that. i may > > stay a couple of days and enjoy the gulf breezes.
