Hi Mara, It might be mealy bug or cottony aphids. To kill the

little buggers use isopropyl alcohol (cheap rubbing alcohol). Place the alcohol

in a spray bottle and dilute it some with water (maybe 75% alcohol and 25%

water). You will probably need to spray your plant every few days until they

are gone (if that’s what it is).

Sorry for the offtopic, but I thought someone might know the

answer to this.

My beautiful indoor rosemary plant is partially

covered by this white fuzzy stuff - it feels a little

sticky.

Anyone know what this is? A mold, a bug?

and the best way to get rid of it?

Does it look sort of foamy? It’s probably residue left by “spittle

bugs.” They’re pretty harmless. You can just wash stalks you cut before you use

them (do you use it in cooking?); or douse the whole plant under your kitchen

sprayer (with a little help from your fingers, and keeping the actual pot/dirt

out of the water). Or use something a very mild soapy water solution, or insecticidal

soap, then make sure you wash the stalks before you eat any.
