Guest guest
Thank you! I'm going to try the yogurt and egg. I might have to throw in some fruit to make it sweeter - he's not a yogurt fan. Thanks again! To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tuesday, September 22, 2009 11:29:17 AMSubject: Re: legal protien shake? You can do things like pot roast and veggies and bone broth, or if he just has to have a sweet drink, dripped yogurt, and hard boiled eggs pureed with some honey, vanilla, and nutmeg, then thinned with a little water would give him much better protein than any of the junk in those "protein drinks." — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
Guest guest
Hmm...I like the pecan butter idea. Might have to do a combo of this and what Marilyn suggested. Thanks so much for the ideas! " Although he likes stuff made with half and half yogurt or full cream yogurt. Adding a banana or other fruit to the mix is also a good idea, if he tolerates quantities of fruit. Ripe pear is a good, neutral fruit which is quite sweet, also. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund

This could be something to hold me, or drink during school.. Guest guest
I'm going to try it, but not just yet. DH has just restarted the diet, so we're going slowly. He's not quite ready for a lot of fruit yet. I'm going to try it with banana soon, but would probably taste better and sweeter with something like strawberries (which will have to wait a little while). Why don't you just try it and see if you like it? To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 1:56:27 PMSubject: Re: legal protien shake? Thank you! I'm going to try the yogurt and egg. Guest guest
Why don't you just try it and see if you like it? Same issues as your DH with limited fruit =( I'm only eating bananas and applesauce, and I should limit bananas dues to yeast. So that leaves me with applesauce, and that doesn't seem fruity enough to cover up the taste of an egg, IMO.
