Restrictive mean to restrict the amount of food the patient can take in.

Malabsorbtive (sp) means how much of the food that is taken in is actually

used by the body.

The BPD/DS tries to do a balancing act of these two to have effective long

term weight loss with a normal eating life.

I was still not able to discern the meaning of the term 'RESTRICTIVE'

in terms of a Weight Loss Procedure.

Restrictive is the stomach reducing part. Weather stapled and banded

as in the (VGB,AGB), transected (RnY), or partially removed (BPD/DS),

it is made smaller to restrict the amount of food we can intake at one

time.
