Guest guest
I've been having periodic lower back pain - tenderness, etc for the past few days. Last week, I also had a purply magenta clot/bleed - hemorroid burst? - which was in the middle of normal bms. Since then I have had tenderness which throbs to uncomfortable pain in my rectal area. Just prior to the bleed, I had right hsoulder pain, which I think is related to my liver . . . Post bleed, the shoulder pain disappeared. My stools have beenr eally stable, so I attributed the bleeding to excess pushing or my body not being used to pushing. Since saturday I have been using annucort suppositories for relief, which I think also may help the overall swelling situation anyway. But the back tenderness is throwing me. I also started estrogen/progesterone patch last week - ortho evra - since my hormone levels are low. Could this be a hormone pancreas thing? Digesting fats? Flare? I don't have a gallbladder, and take bile salts and digestive enzymes when I eat. TIA, Kim SCD Jan 09 About to start gamma globulin treatments and IV antibiotics for Lyme. Guest guest
Kim I'd check in with your doctor. My experience with upper GI pain has been that the pain is usually located in the upper back and right shoulder (or upper right quadrant on the front side). I do get lower back pain from spinal damage, of course. And pain in my descending colon and rectum when my constipation is flaring, but that is intermittent and doesn't last long. What you're describing doesn't sound like it's coming from upper GI issues. The combination of continued rectal pain along with the blood clot in the stool is a concern. Could also be the estrogen/progesterone patch triggering a reaction of some kind as that is something new for you. Might need to adjust the dosage or type. It might just be a simple thing, like an aggravated hemorrhoid, but it is a good idea to check in with your doctors. Kim M.
