Jodie,

I think that the biggest hurrdle was the diet history.

For myself, I did not attend jennie Craig, Weight

Watchers or anything like that. I dieted mostly on my

own. I also talked with my PCP about diets and

exercise. The good thing is that my PCP kept records

of those discussions. Aetna said that I was considered

as being under a doctor's supervision for diet because

of those records. That was my only worry. I had all

the other qualifications for WLS.

I have always believed that you can accomplish

whatever you set out to do if you set your mind to it.

And, set your plan of action. My wife said that Aetna

does not cover this surgery and so I should look at a

RNY. I knew they would if convinced. It is all in the

way you go about it. I was not afraid of the DS not

being covered, just that I would not qualify because

of the diet history. But that worked too.

30 days to go. Boy am I glad.
