Grate about 2 TBS of ginger into about 3 - 4 cups of water, bring to a boil,

turn off the heat and let it steep at least 10 minutes. Voila, fresh ginger tea.

When I'm sick I drink a lot of this but leave the burner on low so it's always

hot. I drink that along with my chicken soup. You don't have to add honey to the

tea, but it is a little better. I've had it with and without. You'll have to

play around with the amount of ginger per water as ginger can be pretty spicy.

You could even bring it in a thermos to school and sip on it all day. Of course,

I would take it slow at first as not to cause too much die off.

For garlic, don't you make savory smoothies? You can add a clove of raw garlic

to the smoothie. A few years ago, I had tried making my own V8 in the morning

and adding a clove of garlic. I was immediately sick. If I had known then that

garlic was an antifungal and I was killing bad bacteria, I would have tried to

find out more information. I still can't eat much raw garlic.
