Merci: I have not told anyone at my work about my plans to have this

surgery. The one person I did share this with was my Supervisor and

that was simply because I wanted to. No one needs to know, if you

do not want them to know. And that includes the boss - all you have

to say is you need time off for Medical Reason and give them a

doctor's notices.--

I was given a two week notice when I was going to have my surgery by

the care manager. But then I was also scheduled with the first

available, I said give me the first date! lol

I would assume that the surgery would be scheduled to your work

needs, once you are approved. YOu can pick a day.

My work doesn't know I had surgery, only my boss,in case something

were to happen to me on the job. I guess you are not going to file

short term disability? For being out 6 weeks for medical, isn't that

the norm?

In case you are wondering how people will react to you after

surggery, I have noticed in my office of about 100 people, that

people don't pay that close of attention. I have lost over 80lbs

since I started this whole process and people are JUST now starting

to notice. They think it has been a steady thing. I don't eat at my

desk so no one knows how much I eat for lunch though, so I am sure

that has kept the eyebrows from being raised....

Don't know if this all helps or not, but I tried.

Good luck on getting a date you want!
