THank you for all the feedback. I might have mentioned a few things

in my first post---when I initially went to my PCP for a referral to

Dr. Rabkin, I went armed with six inches of research on the DS. I am

blessed enough to WORK at UCD Med Center, which has a large medical

library available to me, and I have taken advantage of that access.

My PCP has seen the research but is biased because he has never heard

of this surgery and apparently is not interested in being educated

about it either. As long as he refers me to Dr. Anthone, he gets out

of the appeal loop, so for now I am going to stay with him, but in

the meantime, I am hunting down the names of decent PCPs in the area

who believe in a collaborative practice---and plan to switch PCPs as

soon as I am able.

Secondly, if anyone on this list ever has a question that I could

answer, I would be happy to do so...just ask. I am not a doctor, but

I have worked in different types of ICUs and recovery rooms for the

past ten years, and have some basic surgical knowledge...and I am

also one to say call your doctor if anything sounds seriously amiss...
