Gobo,

Dr. Elariny bills for two CPT codes: 43843 and 43633--but I don't

know how these translate into words. My insurance (GEHA--Feds)

questioned the need for two procedures, and has withheld final

judgment until after they see the operative report--to be submitted

along with his bill. My guess is that because there is not a

specific code for BPD/DS, he covers it with two codes that add up to

the total procedure. Hope this may help with Fed BCBS.

In my case, I am prepared to pay for a major portion of what his

admin asst. told me his surgical fee will be, if GEHA won't cover it.

They have agreed to cover the hospitalization 100%, and his fee

should be **a lot** less than the hospital charges ($20K).
