Guest guest
Hi Dean, nice to meet you. Mantras...let me see. Not so sure this qualifies as any Mantras but I basically talk myself through this situation. I basically ask whats the worst thing that will happen if I do/not do this or that and go from there. Like when I was going through my 10% process, I used to say to myself when I felt like eating something that I knew would hinder my progress, this is what I would say " No 10%, no surgery " and that is what kept me on the straight and narrow. That along with encouragement from this group and LOTS of prayer. I wish you luck with whatever you are dealing with. Guest guest
Pam, I should have said that to myself last night as I fininshed the last half of a Ben & Jerry's Pint. Oh well, now there is nothing left in the house but Stage 1 and Stage 2 foods. I am going to Psych myself out that I have already had the Surgery and eat only these foods and portion sizes. I am through dorking around and am getting to business. Guest guest
You are post surgery and you can have ice cream. I had sugar free popcicles and bought the was that had cream cicles in them. It bothered my tummy so I can only imagine what real ice cream would do. Well as long as you enjoyed it with no problems. Hey, I suppose every once in a while it is okay. Just be mindful. Take care. Guest guest
5% you say. That is so cool!!!! You can do this. I no that you can. If you can, cut down on the carbs and do more protein. You will see a drop. It was my last 3-5 pounds that were the hardest but it happened and it will happen for you. Hang in there no matter what. You are way too close to stop now and I am NOT going to let you. No way honey. Its so worth the fight honey and you are not alone. Guest guest
Gee, Ben & Jerry's ice cream sounds so good right now. Though I can't have it now, I'd rather have the weightloss instead. I went to my first Kaiser post-op appt. today. I went from 285.5lbs to 269lbs since June 22, 2005 (lap RNY). They were pleased I wasn't losing fast, (pleased?). My waist & hips measurements dropped from 49 " & 64 " to 46 " & 57 " . Original measurements were from my weight at 324lbs orientation Feb. 2004. I also found out my cholestrol at surgery was 183, normal, compared to 204 Dec. 2004. Just wondering, does Kaiser in Northern California give vitamin b-12 shots? Here in Riverside Kaiser they don't give vitamin b-12 shots, you have to take sublingual b-12 once a week. Told doctor taking them everyday. > > > > > > > > > Do any of you have special mantras that you > > > repeat > > > > > to yourself when you want to do or avoid doing > > > > > something....to avoid eating something, for > > > > > instance. > > > > > > > > > > [For example, it used to be hard for me to use > > > > > urinals at times, bladder just wouldn't release > > > > > urine. Guest guest
Congrats . I am not sure if Kaiser gives B12 shots or not but I am shocked that you are only taking the B12 once per week instead of twice per week.
