Hi Dean, nice to meet you. Mantras...let me see. Not

so sure this qualifies as any Mantras but I basically

talk myself through this situation. I basically ask

whats the worst thing that will happen if I do/not do

this or that and go from there. Like when I was going

through my 10% process, I used to say to myself when I

felt like eating something that I knew would hinder my

progress, this is what I would say " No 10%, no

surgery " and that is what kept me on the straight and

narrow. That along with encouragement from this group

and LOTS of prayer.

I wish you luck with whatever you are dealing with.

I say HALT!

ette, are you HUNGRY, ANGRY, LONELY OR TIRED? If it had been 2 or

3 hours since I last ate, I am probably really hungry and need to

eat. If I am angry or lonely (or stressed or in pain), I don't need

food, I need to deal with those emotional states in non-food ways. If

I am tired I need rest, not a cookie.

I say, "I'm going to be a Marina girl". (The women in the Marina neighborhood in SF where I live are uniformly gorgeous. It's kinda where the beautiful people live. I want to be one of those sleek, gorgeous girls. It's vain, but hey...whatever works.)

Pam, no I am not post surgery, I am working on my last 5%. I have

been staring at that ice cream for 6 weeks while my son was away at

Grandpas and various summer camps. I looked at it as my final

farewell to fatdom. I am so ready and want it so bad that I feel it

has given me a sort of release and a permission to go ahead to do

it. It is funny how we relate food into our lives, which is why

people are morbidily obese.

Well no more, I will fight, fight, fight!!!

Congrats . I am not sure if Kaiser gives B12

shots or not but I am shocked that you are only taking

the B12 once per week instead of twice per week.
