Guest guest
Bobbi-jo: I hated those steri strips so much. I felt like i looked like frankenstein. i was out of the hospital and wanted to be as normal as possible. I think i finally pulled them off at about 10 days post op. i did it in the shower, it seemed easier. Dr Quinn said it was OK to pull them off as did my sister (a doc too). No scabs came off with them. Good Luck! JILL K in NY __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Bobbi-jo, Dr Rabkin also uses steri-strips and according to the information on his site, you're supposed to leave them on until they fall off, which is usually around 2 weeks or so. Guest guest
BobbyJoe- no- don't remove your steristrips unless your doctor told you to or they are falling off( and scrubbing them in the shower is a no-no- just wash gently over them)! They are helping to prevent any stress to the wound edges so that your scar will be nice and skinny and pink. Think of them as adhestive stitches. I'm glad you're doing so well postop!
