ones have dairy - either yogurt or cheese - in them. My son just asked last

night if I could try some sort of bread recipe because he'd love a sandwich.

That would be nice for me too!

Does anyone have a good dairy free recipe that makes good sandwiches? What about the one Jodi just posted that uses coconut flour? You could easily sub something for the butter, and I'm pretty sure that's all the dairy that was in it. Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds except for the stupid iron pill I have to take that is SO illegal

I don't tolerate dairy, so have been making dairy-free muffins and bread the entire time I've been on SCD. I'm sorry to say I haven't yet had a batch of bread that could be sliced thin enough to make anything close to resembling a sandwich. The pieces I cut from the bread loaf are about half an inch thick; anything less or thinner just causes the piece and the loaf to crumble into small bits. I've tried chilling the bread loaf and then slicing, but I still can't get thin enough to try to use as a sandwich. Unless you like tall sandwiches!

The bread tastes terrific, but it tends to be more of a "quick bread" and not a sandwich bread. At least that's been my experience. I just use the bread as a side, and not as a sandwich.

The first ingredient in that is SCD yogurt. We can't do that yet - I'm too

afraid to try it, especially since my son is doing so well and has an obvious

problem with dairy.
