Guest guest
Hi Sandy, You wrote: >>> I had to see the local Doc because the injury to my hand when I fell is still bad. He said he would write me a letter saying he didn't do the DS surgery and didn't know anyone here who did. I almost fell over! Thank you for this wonderful idea I never thought of! I had a consult with a local doc who only does RNY. I went in with an open mind, I guess. But in the end, I still really want the BPD/DS procedure. I have been afraid of insurance rejection because the Mt Sinai docs don't participate in my insurance network. But NONE of their in-network docs do the BPD/DS!! So, I just fired off a letter to this RNY doc asking him to send me a brief letter stating that we have met for a consultation for weight loss surgery but the patient wanted the BilioPancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/DS). He is not currently providing this procedure, nor does he know of anyone in the area who is. Well, I guess he has no other motivation to actually take the time to do it than pure good will. But he seemed nice enough so I am really hoping he will do it. Hey, any ammo I can get, right??
