PGE1 has anti-inflammatory properties and may also act as a blood thinner and blood vessel dilator. Linoleic acid, found in flax oil and other vegetable oils should theoretically convert to PGE1. Many things can interfere with this conversion, however, including disease; the aging process; saturated fat, hydrogenated oils; blood sugar problems; and inadequate vitamin C, magnesium, zinc and B Vitamins. Supplements that provide GLA circumvent these conversion problems, leading to more predictable formation of PGE1. It is very good news actually I had this test right when I started the diet.. Never tried black current seed oil and I don't even know where to begin to learn about the processing although I need to look into cranberry seed extract too. Never tried black current seed oil and I don't even know where to begin to learn about the processing although I need to look into cranberry seed extract too Funny thing: borage oil never agreed with me, but EPO does. Interestingly, EPO (GLA) was recommended by my oncologist for hormonal balancing after my surgery. Be aware that if, for some reason, you take Motrin (ibuprofen), it will interfere with the action of the GLA, and, apparently, vice versa. Of course. ibuprofen is not recommended on SCD. GLA is also good for muscle spasms and aches. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund
