Hi All,

My name is and am pre-op. I'm 44 and weigh 475lbs(?), with a BMI

of 59(?). I recently made my decision to have WLS and specifically

DS/BPD. I've just started the process, but I've seen my PCP, and have an

appointment with the endocrinologist on 4/25.

My insurance is Mayo Health Plan Arizona, and was wondering if anyone

has had any experience with them and WLS?

I appreciate the experiences that you all share, and am looking forward

to being on the other side with the rest of you post-ops.

Thanks,

Hi:

I also work for a division of Mayo Clinic - Mayo Comp is exclusively

for Mayo Clinic system employees - one of my workers and I were the

first two they ever approved for the DS. Unfortunately, no surgeon in

the entire Mayo system does the DS so we had to go out of network.

The Mayo Health Plan in Florida doesn't pay for any type of WLS (many

of my co-workers switched to Comp just for that reason) so is

blessed that they do in Arizona.
