Guest guest
Hi all, Jodie, I had that hairy tongue too. Thought it was thrush but one of the symptoms of dehydration is hairy tongue. I increased my fluid intake and it was gone in 2 days. If you have a dryness in your mouth or your lips are dry that is your first thing to look out for. I was given flagyl (which is a treatment for fungus/bacterial infections) intravenously in the hospital along with antibiotics. For a good shake recipes go to the files section on the site and someone was great enough to post some also here is a link: http://www.camacdonald.com/lc/LowCarbohydrateCooking-Recipes.htm#Beverages I would substitute the heavy cream in most of the recipes with lactate free or soy. I found a section in our little store in town that has all kinds of heavy creams in soy base. I ate egg drop soup on day 7 and had no problems. The egg will go down fine. Congratulations on your weight loss. I have not weighed since Friday and had lost only 8 pounds. I am not worried though. I know it will go. I ate soft moist fish the last two days and had my first normal poop today. Also, bought some sugar free pudding and made it with lactaid milk and was it ever good. Still can only eat about 2 oz before getting full but what a good 2 oz it was. Since switching to lactaid milk I have had no problems with the diary. I feel a little tired this morning but other than that I have no after effects from the trip. The high altitude on the flight from LaGuardia to Detroit caused me some pressure pain but I was ok as soon as we hit the ground. The little puddle jumper was a lot better. And yes, there is still a lot of snow on the ground but I can actually see out my windows now. It has gone down a great bit and if we have temps like yesterday (36) it will take about a week and it will be all gone. Just in time to start the golf season. I am looking forward to this year as Bob has always told me to get closer to the ball but I can't cause my belly got in the way of my swing. I think it will be a few weeks before I am ready to swing a club. I am going to see how I feel this week and maybe go back to work next week. Got some running around to do today and need to get started before Bob wakes up. He can get out of bed and go but it takes me a lot more time than him. I am a slow riser and he just bounds with energy. LOL Thanks to all who came to visit me in NYC. I had a grand time. Look forward to coming back in 6 months and repeating the visits. And for the phone calls. It really helped to make my trip go by a lot faster. Bye for now! Viau Switched 3/29/01 Dr Ren, NYUMC
