Guest guest
I voted on the pole, but FYI--I went down to San Diego, Pacific Bariatrics. They seem to keep their patients in the hospital longer than Freemont, SSF and Richmond. Plus, I stayed in an extra day because they were monitoring my heart. (I had open heart surgery in 1969, when I was 16 years old.) During my WLS my heart " fluttered " ; the cardiologist was on hand during the surgery, the fluttering stopped and I was OK, but they just wanted to make sure I didn't have any further problems. Goodness, I've heard of people staying in the hospital less than 24 hours for their WLS, and that just flabbergasts me! Then, they send them home to Sacramento or other cities. It's just so different from San Diego, where they made me stay in the hotel (less than a block from the hospital) for 2 days after I was released from the hospital. I don't know what's right or wrong, but just it's different. (BTW--Kaiser coverage included paying for my flight down to San Diego and back and hotel stay the night before surgery and for the 2 days after release from the hospital until my first appointment outside of the hospital with the surgeon. However they keep you in the hospital, I'm sure you will be fine. > when i get my surgery date hopefull august- i need to prep to have > someone watch my kiddos... > im going to great a poll for time spent in the hospital so i can > prepare...hope you all will take a minute to vote, so i can see > averages...i do realize that we are all individual, and have different > issues,in differnet hospitals thats why ill just look for an average > day stay.. > a day will be considered a 24 hr period... > round up to the closest answer... > thank > sarah castro > waiting for surgery Fremont
