Hi I am new to this list. I have been researching WLS for over a

year but just the last month or so have I started to research the DS

procedure in depth. I have a BMI of 61, so I think the DS is a good

choice for me. I was hoping to have a LAP procedure but the LAP

doctors are booked up. I waited until this year so I would have

insurance that would approve WLS. I am afraid if I have to wait

again and our company changes insurances again, I won't be as lucky.

I will be having an open DS on 6/12 with Dr. in Winston-

Salem NC. I have gotten a lot out of lurking on this site. Any

other pointers regarding surgery preperation would be appreciated.

Thanks, , Denver, NC

Hi, , it's me Micky. I'm having DS with Dr. G on May 15th.I

decided to join this group as well as his to get more DS input. I'm

excited about the surgery but scared at the same time. I don't mind

the pain, but tubes bother me. I think it's becasue I'm

claustrophobic. Good luck with your surgery!
