Hi

I came across a new sweetener at Whole Foods made from Chicory root. In BTVC

Elaine writes that weak coffee can be beefed up using chicory, but anyone know

if a sweetener made from chicory root is legal?

Chickory root is now illegal. See breakingtheviciouscycle.info legal/illegal

list.

Here is what the site says:

Chickory root Illegal

Chickory root is not legal.

In my first book, I suggested that it might be used instead of coffee beans. I

have since learned that it contains large amounts of fructooligosaccharides.

I was bummed to find this out because I drank an alternative to coffee that

contains chickory. I miss it soooo much as I've gong back to coffee... =(
