Great news Marilyn! I'm sure it is a relief! Heidi

I've mentioned having had surgery for endometrial cancer on 7 April 2008. As ya'll know, I have to have labs every four months until the oncologist tells me it can be every six months.Got my results for the September 2009 labs -- NEGATIVE!Only three years and six months until I can be declared cancer-free... and take the dream vacation Harry and I have been thinking of through the Canadian Rockies... on the Rocky Mountaineer. I always breathe a sign of relief when the tests come back negative... one more milestone on the path.

Wonderful! I know you've been asked this before, but have you thought about LDN to help prevent cancer recurrence? Not only am I taking it for UC, but I feel it will help prevent breast CA after my dx of breast atypical hyperplasia. It has low incidence of side effects and the proposed benefit is great! Congratulations Marilyn.

Terry,

I've considered LDN, not only to prevent the probability of cancer

recurrence, but as a possibility for the ongoing hip pain issues. My

Bipap has done wonders as far as the latter is concerned, but I still am

finding myself waking after about 6 hours of sleep, and then again after

about three additional hours (or however many I get that day before the

phone starts ringing or the dachshunds barking). I've considered that

boosting the endorphins in the wee hours might be a benefit in

this.

The problem is that I haven't been able to take the time to put together

a respectable body of research to present to my doctors in order to see

about getting a prescription for same.

<wry grin> It's going to be interesting enough when I ask my new

PCP for a Vitamin D test. I've learned that the correct test to order is

25(OH)D, also called 25-hydroxyvitamin D. (If anyone else is thinking

being tested, make sure this is the test you get. Labs often give the

test for 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, the active hormone. According to what

I've read, this test is the wrong test as it offers no meaningful data

regarding D status. )

I will also be asking about B12 supplementation, as I don't seem to be

absorbing the oral B-12.

And then adding LDN on top of it.... ay-yi-yi!

Well, SCD, strict and by the book, no commercial foods except those

authorized in BTVC.

Vitamins... whole whack of research on that.
