Guest guest
As for dairy-free yogurt starters, I see that the one that GI ProHealth sells has L.casei instead of L.acidophilus. Is this OK? Can we just add some acidophilus to it? Is Custom Probiotics then the only supplier of SCD-legal non-dairy yogurt starter?? There is also a partial list of sources at www.pecanbread.com . And we've discussed this many times here, so you can search the message archives. > > Probiotic supplements that are legal contain only L. Acidophilus for the bacterial strain. Elaine also approved S. Boulardii, which is more of a yeast than a bacteria. There are plenty of other bacterial strains available, with " experts " promoting their use, but most don't have much longevity (to know the long-term damage possibilities). Elaine said no to any strain of Bifidus as it isn't a community-minded strain and can mutate easily, causing more damage to the gut. > > It is almost impossible to find a legal probiotic in local stores. Not hard to order from online sources, however. > > Kim M. > SCD 5+ years > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > ...Does anyone recommend a brand or a way for me to get my Probiotics?
