Guest guest
I recently traveled away from home for 1 week. I took lots of yogurt/honey, nut butter brownies, cheese, cheesecake, squash pie filling, deviled eggs, blueberry muffins, Stretch Island fruit leather, Dole pineapple juice cans, Welch's grape juice, and cold chicken. I didn't even need a microwave. Not particularly balanced, but I just needed something to get me through the week. I only ate out once, at Outback Steakhouse. They have a gluten free menu to order off of, so you could get a steak (with nothing but salt and pepper on it) and steamed veggies (no seasonings added). I'd stay away from Red Lobster. From what I've heard other SCDers say, there really isn't anything you can get that hasn't been pre-seasoned with illegals. I'd also stay away from chicken altogether, as you never know what they may have marinated it in. Steak, hamburgers, and maybe fish are probably the way to go. Good luck! I did not tell them about my Ulcerative Colitis, or my diet, but I did let them know I need a room with a microwave and a fridge in it. I figure this way I can keep the food I bring cold. We will be going out to eat everyday, so i'm going to try to pick places that may have something I can eat such as red lobster or outback steak house... i'll just tell them no seasonings except salt and pepper. > > > > Any suggestions on food to bring with me so I won't go hungry? > > > > Any suggestions on where I can say I want to eat out that would have food I can eat on this diet? > > > > > > The diet has been amazing so far. I am on less than half the meds I was on before, and almost no more pain!! I've been on the diet about 6 months super strict. > > - > UC - 1 year > SCD - 3.5 months 100% strict and 4 months restricted diet. > Asacol - 4 pills 3 times a day - hopefully scd will help me get off these! No more Hydrocortisone or Prednisone! > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Ready for Fall shows?
