Guest guest
Great news, Pam! I'm so proud of you!! I can't imagine you 20 lbs lighter, you are already so hot hot hot...but you know your body better than anybody...so if you think 20 lbs. can go by by...well, you GO girl!! I have my six weeks appt. today (it's actually 7 and a half weeks at present.) Oddly enough, for the first time, I went up a lb. I am trying not to freak...certainly I haven't eaten anything I shouldn't...nor have I eaten too much. Possibly dehydration, who knows? Or maybe it's just that first thing in the a.m. (I weighed very early) I weigh more. Maybe I'm "normal" by now. I am sooooo close to 200 lbs (more like UNDER 200 lbs)...but, my weight loss has slowed the last couple of days. I'm hovering at 202 (although this morning I was nearly 203...and no, I don't think my period is due.) It's a bit maddening. I wanted to be at 200 for the appt. today...but maybe by Monday I'll be there. We'll see. I have finally managed to work out. I am such a jock, and always worked out like a crazy woman in the past...so it's been a big surprise to me that I'm just too tired to do much at all. Haven't even been walking much...getting the energy to go up and down the stairs has been almost overwhelming...and after a hard day at work (very hard) I'm dragging. However, on Saturday I went to the gym and worked out with my trainer for an hour, and did the elliptical for an hour. On Monday, I did Pilates with my other trainer for an hour. Tuesday, I worked out with Jim at the gym on weights for an hour ( a little cardiovascular, too),, Wednesday it was Pilates again...on last night I went to the gym again and lifted for an hour. i started freaking out because my upper arms and my inner thighs are starting to be pretty loose...and I am Ms. Muscle U.S.A. But, I've been having a lot of trouble keeping down the protein. I've been yucking up a lot in the past three weeks. I seem to have a collicky pouch at the moment. Knock on wood, I didn't throw up yesterday, so that's good. So yeah...maybe I've gained muscle...but after only five days working out, I doubt it. Particularly because I already had so much muscle, and it's not like I'm doing heavy weights. On the other hand, I'm a bit, er "full" at the moment...so maybe the weight gain has more to do with the need for some constipation relief...who knows. We'll see. I'm trying not to wig out, as I know the body has normal ebbs and flows. The odd thing is that my weight has always jumped around ridiculously. One day to the next I can vacillate as much as 5 lbs. But since having the surgery, I have only stayed the same or, more often, gone down the scale...without the jumps. It's been wonderful. Really. So, I need to count my blessings. Did anyone have this scenario? I've been feeling pretty good about myself, feeling like I look good...enjoying the fact that my clothes are too losse, and that I can fit into some of my old clothes...and then the last two days, I look in the mirror and feel really fat. I feel like my tummy is sticking out, and that I look puffy. I don't know if I really do look puffy...and maybe I am having another period already...if I'm retaining weight...or if I'm getting into the body dysmorphia phase...you know, getting impatient to lose weight, and thus, not really registering the progress I've already made. (In the seven weeks, not counting my one lb. gain today, I've lost 33.5 lbs...and including my pre-surgery loss, I'm down 59.5 lbs. I think I did a math error, because I've been saying that I've lost 61 lbs....but, that will only be the case when I finally get down to 200!) Anyway...just wondering if any of you have experienced that: feeling great and sexy and "getting there"...and then having other days where you wonder if you'll EVER get there...or if you'll stay stuck at 202 for the rest of your life... Ah, patience. Not my forte! Robynn Pamela A Marsh wrote: Good morning, I just wanted to post that I achievedanother goal of mines. I weighed myself this morningand I am in the 150s (yeah!!). This has been the best 5 and a half months Icould have ever asked for. I am hoping to have thisoff by September and keep it off until my one yearanniversary in Feb. 2006. This way, maybe I can goahead and pay the fee to have them do my breastsurgery done. I am hearing that they want to see youhold your weight for at least six months once you havereached your goal before they will do any type ofreconstructive surgery. Not sure if that is true butif so, that will put me right at 5 months if I get itoff by September. Guest guest
Hi Pam Marsh, and Everyone, Wow,Congratulations on your fabulous weight loss!! I weighed 130 for about 2 months when I was 16 years old. What a great feeling. You give me such hope. I just got back from a 2 week vacation to Washington State to visit my daughter and son and their families. I loved spending time with my 4 grandsons, ages 17 months,3,4, and 10 years. My 4 year old grandson has a form of autism and it was good to see how much better he is doing.I miss them all so much. I really tried hard to stay as close to my 1200 calorie diet as possible, and actually lost weight on the trip. I only have 6 more pounds to lose until I reach my 10%! Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to have my surgery in August like I wanted. Because I am starting a new job in the fall, I have a lot of meetings and seminars to go to in August. I may not be able to have surgery until around Thanksgiving vacation where I have 1 week off to put on with the other weeks off I need to take off for the surgery.I guess it wouldn't hurt to continue losing weight, but I am so anxious to have the surgery and it is frustrating. Do you think I should still push for an August date? Hello to the other Pams out there. too! Guest guest
What great news Pam!!! Way to go! That must have felt so good jumping on that scale! You sure seemed to get to goal fast too! Shows your determination! I am right there with you! A loose size 10? I am still fantazing about that one! One day at a time for me. Glad to see your time has flown by! Do you have an " at goal " outfit in mind? Kay > > > Good morning, I just wanted to post that I > > achieved > > > another goal of mines.
