I think alot of us would be interested in hearing about people's

experiences with Dr. Baltazar and with the Hospital experience in another

country. Please share if you are not having too much fun out in your new

wonderful life......

Hi lynn and others interested in Dr Baltasar,

I am scheduled for surgery with him on May 14. He has been wonderful

so far, very prompt at answering any and all of my questions about

the surgery and what to expect. The cost is $10,500 for MO and

$11,000 for Super Morbid Obesity. This includes a 9 day hospital

stay (you will get a refund if discharged earlier), the surgery,

anesthesia, and a cot in the room for a traveling companion. I found

plane tickets for 787 each from Atlanta to Valencia, then paid about

150 more for tickets from Savannah to Atlanta and back. It worked

out well, considering May is the beginning of the travel season and

tickets are a bit more than normal. Still, quite a bit more

manageable than the astronomical prices for medical care here in the

states. I think if you do some reading on Dr Baltasar, you will find

he is a very well respected surgeon in this field, has been doing WLS

for over 20 years, and the DS specifically for over 7 years. He is

fluent in English and is a member of many American standards boards,

including the ABSA. All of his previous patients describe him as a

warm, caring father figure. I have heard such great things about him

as a man and as a very skilled surgeon...I feel I will be in very

good hands. Check out the egroups for his patients that

posted...you will find tons of information. You can also check out

his web site from the link on the DS site. Several of his patients

are active on this group and will probably be glad to share their

experiences. I will certainly post my surgery story when I return to
