Hi,

Maybe I'm the only one who uses d-Ribose but I thought I'd report on

my investigation. d-Ribose is one of the things that helps those of

use with major energy-producing problems at the mitochrondrial level.

Several of the good alternative docs whose newsletters I trust have

been recommending it. So I got some. It really does help. It's a

white powder, and a simple sugar that apparently goes right to the

mitochondria and I guess is particularly helpful for those of us with

malabsorption, etc. They say to use it up to 5 times a day for fibro, at least.

So, you know what happened. The other day I got to wondering if it is

legal. And, ta-da!, d-Ribose is a mono saccharide and is even

specifically listed as such in this interesting web site on the

various kinds of carbs:

http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/carbohydrates.html

Of course as always this leaves open the question of whether a

particular brand has anything else in it, but the basic item is

clearly a mono-saccharide and I thought I'd mention this because it

really is a help for energy, especially if I have been out in the big

bad world or doing some work or something. A scoop of this in water

or juice (or on something) really helps. Supposedly it does not in

any way affect blood sugar and it doesn't mess up my hypoglcemia, but

of course I can't say for sure about a given person's reactions with

diabetes.
