Guest guest
I had my first blockage since starting SCD. I think it was " just " a partial one, since I was able to avoid going to the ER. Ugh! There was no warning either. I've been feeling perfectly fine, but last night after dinner, I started to feel the beginnings of the on-and-off again pains that signal a blockage. The pain peaked in the middle of the night, and then subsided by morning. Today's exciting menu was 4 glasses of grape juice (diluted 50% with water) and 1 cup of yogurt (split into 2 separate servings) with a little honey. Tomorrow will probably be the same. I also dug up some old prednisone pills and decided to do a 5-10 day " burst " to help any inflammation. I wonder if this means my Humira has quit working? Anywho, I'm scheduled to consult a surgeon next Monday IF my PCP/his staff can get off their butts and give me a referral. I was supposed to see the surgeon last week, but apparently my PCP needs to review my colonscopy results because he doesn't automatically believe my GI when she says I should see a surgeon. I may even need to see said PCP before he will give me a referral. Um...hello? You send me to a GI because she is a SPECIALIST! Now you don't trust her judgment? Ridiculous. As if seeing me in the flesh will help him determine whether or not I need a surgeon. Anyway, rant over. Hopefully things will work out.
