Guest guest
Hi: I find all of the info on this subject interesting due to my recent experience. I have had IBS since teen years (family genes). Last month I had a severe case of constipation for a week. Took all the usual things to help to no avail. Enema finally won the battle. After being on LDN & SCD for a month, just last week I had another bout of this, for 9 days. Was ready to visit ER. Realized that the urge was there but, there seemed to be something that blocked BM exit. I tried 4 days of stool softeners, lax, fleet enema (all no results), beans, OJ, prune J (all off cancer diet) . The lax caused much cramps and pain for hours but, no results. Again, another enema brought relief. This is a frightening experience and I do not look forward to another. Intestines so impacted and uncomfortable and I was sure no LDN was being absorbed. Could my IBS be progressing to CD? Would a daily dose of coconut oil help? I would appreciate all advice on how to alleviate another such incident. Thanks to all on this site for your caring. And thanks to oldies for being patient with us newbies. :-)) Hopes and hugs, abhinj
Guest guest
I used to have bad constipation problems. Just switching to SCD helped a lot. Other than that, I take a lot of fish oil (about 3000 mg a day) and a magnesium supplement. You might try taking something like Miralax or Milk of Magnesia every night. They're supposed to be safe for long term use. Pre-SCD, I took MoM a couple nights a week or so.
