Guest guest
Terri, I seened those funny cartoon characters you have included in your e-mails. I saved some of them to show Kathy, and Reba if so inclined if they are interested when and if they are ever here at the library at the time I'am. How do you do this??? Do you have a special program on your computer to do this? Rose, This article in the U.S. News & World Report wasn't about a certain "superbug" virus or bacteria, but was about how antibotics in a general sense are getting less and less effective to fight off those germs that they were design for. These drug companies' are not developing new antibotics because they don't have the profitability like other drugs have. This article says it takes about 12 years of research and development to get a new antibotic on the "market". Also it takes 800 million dollars to do all this just for one type of antibotic. Like I said the profitability or money return to develope other drugs is greater so they are a business to make money on something is more valuable. This antibotic I'am taking is a "HORSE PILL"!!!!!!!! A person could choke on this rascal if not carefull. I don't have the name of this with me at this time. Perhaps later this week when I'am back at this library I could send the name in a e-mail. Rose, I can't be a Angel Fish. Dog Fish like in my last e-mail or a Bum Fish. I would like to go to my high school reunion this July, but no money a person has to pay for the dinner, the cost of renting a convention room at a hotel, and other costs. There was an "early bird" reservation date of March 1st which was cheaper but this came and went. My high school reunion is with two of the following classes as well. So this is Bentley High School Class of 1971 (mine), 1972 (Dale's class), and 1973. Relax. Yahoo! Mail virus scanning helps detect nasty viruses! Guest guest
, I'm thankful that our class reunions have been very inexpensive. Like in 2002, for the 35th, Sat. night we had a get-together just for adults, with snacks & drinks, in a local meeting room. Then on Sun. we had a pitch-in picnic at a local park, for anybody. I took my mom, Sam & one of her friends, and my sister-in-law (my brother's widow). She was in my class until junior year when she dropped out because of family problems. Her dad was a lunatic who beat her mom & the kids with his wooden leg. Anyway, she went back & graduated the next year, but everybody was really welcoming to her because she had gone through school since first grade with most of them. I took "ny Marzetti," a hamburger casserole that was one of the most popular foods in our cafeteria. Back then we had actual lunch ladies who actually cooked real food. They were all moms, aunts, grandmas, etc. of students. Anyway, before I graduated I asked one of them for the recipe and cooked it many times over the years for my family. I took two big baking dishes labeled "Official Sheridan ny Marzetti," thinking I'd had a lot of leftovers. They gobbled it up! Nobody could believe that I had the ny Marzetti recipe. That's one of the nice things about a small school; everybody remembered. Anyway, a high school reunion doesn't have to be lavish & expensive. We actually get more class members to the Sun. picnic. Of course, we're not bringing our kids now--it's our grandkids! I don't have any dogfish, or bumfish! You're an Angelfish; live with it! Re: the antibiotics. You're right; the drug companies thought the bacteria war was won & put their time & money into the antidepressants, anti-anxiety drugs, Viagra, etc. By the time the medical poobahs realized the bugs were getting resistant, the drug companies had to start playing catch up. And like you said, it takes many years to research, develop & test a drug. Well, it's late & I'm going to head off to zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
