Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I am so proud of myself today. I have to schedule a sleep study before I have surgery with Dr. Herron at Mt. Sinai. I have called a local hospital that does them and they referred me to one of their doctors who I must consult with first. When I called the doctor's office, I was informed that they had no appointments for consultation open until the end of June! That had me worried! My surgery is scheduled for Sept 21st. Well, I decided to get bold and explained my situation, the surgery that I'm having and asked out right if they could bump me up! The gal put me on hold, then came back with an appointment for May 25th! yeaaaaaaa! In the past I would have accepted the date in June and had a small crisis! I find myself changing already as I prepare for this surgery! I'm advocating for myself in ways I never did before. I guess it is finally getting through to me that I'm worth the effort to get the best care I can. This email group has really encouraged me to stand up for myself and not give up. Thanks to you all for sharing so openly of your struggles and victories! Best wishes!
