I am 19 1/2 weeks and have a large abdominal hernia near my insicion and a

lower one in my groin. I was scheduled for surgery but the surgeon had to cancel

and by the time he was ready I was pregnant so now I have to wait again.

Anyways, noone really knows how the pregnancy will affect them but the ob/gyn

said

I may have to get a binder later on to hold it in if it bothers me. So far it

does not, just looks like an alien popping out of me. So hopefully we will

ahve these babies without a hitch and get our hernoas fixed after the babies are

born. good Luck to you.

,

When I was a few more weeks than you I also discovered a hernia, the wonderful

ladies on this list were the ones who helped me figure out that it was a hernia

and my OB confirmed it. So far I haven't done anything different and my OB says

that when I deliver we will keep an eye on it, but otherwise its no big deal.

He did say that if by chance I have to have a c-section he will get a surgeon in

to fix it up while I am there to save me a surgery after the baby is born. I

would suggest you speak to your OB and maybe have a meeting with a surgeon to

see what is best for you. Good Luck!

Hernia

I am 16 weeks pregnant and have discovered that i have a Hernia. I

had open RNY in January 2003. Has anyone else had this problem?

What kinds of things did you need to do medically? Were you able to

have a vaginal birth. Any information would be helpful.

Hi ,

I have two hernias, one the size of a grapefruit the other about a

baseball size. The only advice my surgeon gave me was that I need

support for them. I bought something called a " belly bra " , I

ordered it online, it works pretty well, but as the baby grows

bigger one of my hernias sticks out more. My surgeon also said that

as long as it goes back in when I lay down then it's fine. If it

ever doesn't or is causes lots of pain there is probably a bowel

obstruction and I will have to have surgery. Nothing so far. I'm

about 31 weeks along now. I'm not considered high risk because of

it. Hope that helps.

Hi all, I have a question....When I had my bypass on Tuesday July 12th

Dr Baggs found a Hernia under my belly button. I'm not sure how big.

He said he doesn't like to remove it at the same time as the bypass. He

said there is a lot of fat around it and I should be fine. He said if

I have any problems in the future to let him know. I was wondering

what experiences you all have had with having a hernia in this

experience and what I should do? I want to hear good and bad please.

Thanks

Tammy
