My visit to my PCP yesterday

: I am so sorry to hear of your conversations with the receptionist.

At least your PCP sounds like she knows what is going on. Unfortuneately,

this is one of my pet peeves about being overweight......people get to dump

on us without any provocation because they think we are at fault for our own

situation. And then when we complain about situations such as this, where

unwarranted remarks are made, we can be perceived as sensitive, whiney

complainers, and then, because we stood up for ourselves and reported the

incident, we are deemed to have personality complications and, of course,

that's the reason we are fat. The outcome of complaining about this will be

dependent on your relationship with your PCP and how highly the PCP regards

the receptionist. But don't worry about the number 300, it is meaningless,

except for the fact that the bigger the number the more you need surgical

intervention. I know you will get the help you need.

I'm some what embarrassed to replay my doctor's (PCP) visit yesterday, but I

figure if anyone understands, you guys will since everyone on this list is in

the same boat.

Hi ,

Believe me I CAN relate.

When I had my last child 2 years ago, I weighed 280 or so after delivery. Well in that 2 years I have tried SOOOO hard to lose weight, doing diet after diet.

I knew I hadn't lost much, but when I went to my PCP for my referral for WLS I had NO NO NO idea I was up to 317 pounds, I almost died.

I truly could not believe it and still can't truthfully.

So I feel your pain, and I sure hope your insurance pays.
