itchy palms

Recently I had a really bad flare up. No one knows what caused it (no illegals,

no infection, sudden extreme pain unlike any flare I've had before) but the

leading theory is that I had an intussusception that healed itself and it kind

of messed things up in my gut. Unfortunately I was put back on prednisone (diet

worked for healing a flare in the past but this time it didn't work) and rowasa.

But that's not really why I'm writing, I just figured I should give a little bit

of background. I wondered if anyone else has had a problem with itchy palms and

soles. Ordinarily I'd assume it was some kind of allergic reaction but

prednisone masks all my allergy symptoms. Heh...I even had to get a patch test

read early because the pred would negate the results. Anyway until 2 days ago

it was only on the palms and soles. It's started to itch occasionally on the

tops of my hands and feet but it's sooooo bad. It wakes me up and it's been

going on for weeks. Last week I had an itch on one of my soles that was so bad

that I actually considered going to urgent care. I don't have any discoloration

or anything that looks like a rash. My skin isn't dry. I can't figure it out.

I've read everything from " it's B Vitamin deficiency " to " it's a sign of

Crohn's " to " it can be a sign of cancer. " So yeah...I wondered if anyone else

had a similar experience?
