Guest guest
THe problem with open surgery is over time adhesions and scar tissue can cause further complications and may require additional surgery. Why do that when you can prevent it withLAP. Doctors who perform both are the most honest cause they know the score and what is best for the patient those who dont, I have found tey to mislead you so they won't lose the surgeons fee. Go with the best, This is the only body you will have. Anne Dr Gagner 1/8./

Guest guest
There are no conclusive studies that bear out the assumption that LAP surgery does not cause adhesions or causes less adhesions than an open procedure. There simply is not enough hard data/years to support that claim. SAGES.org has a presentation on adhesions, other web searches will also yield you scienticifc data on the formation of adhesions. Any manipulation of internal body organs/structures contributes to their formation. Speculating here, but even the introduction on CO2 gas to create the pneumoperitoneum neccessary to perform lap surgery may contribute as it lifts, pushes, exerts pressure on organs, structures, etc. The genesis of adhesion formation is still being unraveled. more will be revealed as the years go on, more patients to study, science evolves further, etc. deb
Guest guest
i know just how you felt, when it came down to parting with the clothes we had so often saved for when we regained the weight we lost with other diets. i held onto three hudge bags for over four months, and it finally dawned on me i won't need them any more, that is why i had the surgery. But it was hard for that to sink into my head, and now once again i have three more bags to send to the good will, but my husband knows i will deal with it.
