A lot of the things he says make a lot of sense. Like using herbicides and commercial fertilizer actually protecting our earth. But it doesn't change the fact that some of us are sensitive to these chemicals. So even if it's better for the planet, it might not be better for certain individuals. The stuff about the animals was interesting too. I've always been an animal lover, and was even vegetarian before I went on SCD, so I always like to buy the 'cage free' stuff. How he described the cages though, it didn't seem to really hurt the animals, it seemed to protect them. THe thing is, I bet there are some farms out there that DO hurt their animals, or at least don't treat them as well as they should. One bad guy can ruin it for everyone =( Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)20mg Prednisone 1x daily ugh
Guest guest
Nah.. Not the problem.. Rudolph Steiner solved many of these problems. It's all about the design we choose. Jodi
Guest guest
Given that the article is presented on the American Enterprise Institute website makes it instantly suspect to me. Call me cynical, which I am when it comes to Agri-Business. Agri-Business does not have your health in mind. Or did you let thewebsite make up your mind for you?The guy writing it is a farmer with a lifetime of experience behind him - more than that really, as he also has theaccumulated experience of several generations of hisfamily who have farmed the same property for years. He seemed completely straightforward to me. Not like a duplicitous agent of **agri-business**.Obviously it is from his side of things. But he's got aninformed POV. And personally I like to read things on various sides of an issue. Mara
