Guest guest
I think it wold be better for you to have some vegies, if you eat them without any dip, than to give in to the temptation of eating snacks that would be more damaging to you. It really is hard to lose the ten percent, just about the hardest thing I have ever had to do. Just do what you can to lose it. Good luck. Guest guest
When I was losing my ten percent, it was Christmas. I was going to school then, to study medical billing, and I got offered See's candy, chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and pizza, some of my favorite things! I don't know where I found the strength to say no, but I did. I just sort of looked at the person asking and said, " Thanks but I can't, my surgeon will know if I do. " Then I giggled and I just know they thought I was so cute and strong--do those two go together? Guest guest
You can do this! I work in a homeless shelter and believe or not evryone gains weight because there is always food here. We have hundreds of krispie kremes on mondays and fridays, restaurants deliver, functions deliver what wasn't eaten......candy and snacks delivered ! Daily food food food! I sometimes go nuts but I don't do it. I have too few lbs to loose before surgery and I want that more than the food. Besides I already know what everything taste like since I am a foodaholic! Guest guest
I think that you are right about what Dr Tanaka is trying to teach us. But, if you have to have a snack you are making the right choices! Stacey Re: Too much food at work That darn Dr. Tanaka tells me (looking down his nose ) that I should NEVER snack . . . not even vegies! Seriously, I think he's talking about learning a new way to think about food, to not even consider eating between meals. Part of the idea of teaching us to eat to live, not live to eat. But honestly, some days I can't manage without a small snack here or there; so I just make sure to have high protein, low carb or vegies to snack on. --Sandi > >Thanks, I will keep trying. Guest guest
Sandi, you have to do what works for you. I have not reached that threshold where I am getting hungry between meals yet as I am only 4 months out almost 5 but I can only imagine being a little hungry and not being able to give yourself just a little something to hold you over. I believe that if it is high protein and it does not causeweight gain, then every once in a while should not be a problem. Be encouraged and hang in there. Pam Marsh --- " Sandi H. Guest guest
In Europe and Asian countries, people never snack. It just isn't done. But, they have pretty full, complete, sit down meals. It's a very different way of eating. I have no trouble doing that when I'm over there...but it's harder here, for some reason! Guest guest
, Stay strong and reach for the goal. Remember we are striving for excellence and not perfection. I was losing my weight during thanksgiving and Christmas and New years. it was hard but I reminded myself that this is the last time I am going to push myself like this. Set your sights on the goal. We are here whenever you need us , even when we are having fun. I am so glad you wrote. > Wow, what a day at work. It seems that everyday is getting worse and > worse.
