Guest guest
Hey Eileen, I did. I still have some cow milk ghee but am planning to buy unsalted sheep or goat butter in the farmers market in bulk to make ghee. I would say start with the goat yogurt.. Totally runny but I drip it and love it.. If you aren't switching to goat/sheeps products for the A1/A2 purposes than the yogurt starter like fage and yogurtmet are ok. I plan on finishing mine up and switching to the GI Prohealth starter. i haven't used Lyosan in long time too (that is cow milk based) If you eat cheese there are some great Goat's cheddar on the market. The company Meyenberg also makes butter and cheese besides milk. Just an FYI though goats/sheeps product are more expensive than cows product. Have you tried a local farm Eileen? Maybe check on eatwild to see if there is a local farm near you or like a Farmers Market- you may be able to get this stuff on discount and like even fresh milk. What diary products do you eat in general? I have absolutely not regretted switching. And now I can have some cheese here and there with no problems. Guest guest
Eileen, I have learned that past tolerances really aren't a great barometer living this SCD lifestyle. I eat a bit of sheeps and goats cheese. I don't think you need to switch starters if you're not looking at the A1/A2 stuff. Are you worried about cow casein at all? The amount of cow skim milk yogurmet starter is negligible. But if it persists- what the heck.. give it a try. You know bloating happens with odd yeast issues just an FYI. If I eat too many bananas in a week forget it between my post surgery hernia and yeast issues it's like my belly is my own personal coffee cup holder *do you see me morphing into Al Bundy right about now* soon you'll hear me screaming " Peg..Peg.. " Did you take many antibiotics in your lifetime? Do you get other symptoms with your bloat or is it strictly a vanity issue? If it is a vanity issue- I think you need to start excersizing.. this sort of thing happens to women with age after kids. What about your thyroid issues? This could contribute to bloat.. How are your FT3 levels? Jodi
Guest guest
I have a horribly fat stomach. I weigh 100 pounds at most, but my belly is FAT FAT FAT! I don't think it's yeast or bloat, because it gets smaller if I lose weight (although still too big for the rest of my body), and bigger if I gain. Plus, it's " squishy, " not hard. If I lay flat on my back, I have the appearance of a flat belly (the fat must spread out), but as soon as I sit up, fat roll city! I have a feeling it's just part of my genetic makeup, and I'll have to do major ab exercises to get rid of it. Ugh. Exercise is SO NOT my thing. But eating healthy didn't used to be my thing either, so maybe there's hope for me ;-).
