Guest guest
In BTVC, it says broiled beef patties or fish. Maybe you could go with fish or something lighter instead of pork chops. Roasted chicken is allowed on the children's version of the diet. Do you tolerate carrots that are well cooked? How do you make the homemade apple cider--just curious. Make sure the bananas have the brown spots. Can you eat eggs or drink diluted juice yet? Just some things to think about that are allowed on the intro. Also, don't go over five days on the intro if you can tolerate any fruits and veggies, cooked, peeled and seeded, you may want to give it a try. Guest guest
>I also think that I'm eating too much sugar and yogurt. I tell myself that the yogurt is the good stuff, the good bacteria, and that honey is LEGAL and then I ignore >the fact that it seems to make my insides start to shift and move and growl. Also, I seem to have the same reaction to apple juice. you seem to be eating a lot of >apple juice... I'm also speculating that I may be reacting to fat.. >Alli I'm assuming you mean apple cider. . All juices including cider should be diluted at least 50-50 when you begin the diet. The yogurt should really be started in tiny amounts and increased as tolerated. Just like other probiotics, too much at once can cause diarrhea/bloating/and other such symptoms. The honey should be limited to 25% of what the recipe calls for if you have a problem with yeast. Floating stools can indicate fats are not being tolerated. Diane D.
Guest guest
>would having more DCCC instead of yogurt be a better idea? or just reduce all dairy products?I'm not sure from your post how long you've been on SCD other than that you have done the intro 4 times. Did you previously do OK with 3cups of yogurt a day? It would be a lot to start out with, but again, I'm not sure how long you've actually been on SCD. And also, fats are not always easily tolerated at the beginning stages either. Floating BM's can indicate an intolerance of fats. The only reason to remove cow dairy would be if you feel you have an intolerance to dairy for some reason. Diane D.

Guest guest
I couldn't eat anything except boiled eggs for a long time without problems. Have you checked the pecanbread.com for stages on food ideas of what to start with like zucchini, cooked, seeded and peeled. I think frenched string beans are also on the early stages. For me, that's a lot of yogurt. I started with barely a tsp. and even now couldn't eat 1-3 c. per day. Do you drip it first? I ate a lot of dccc--to the extreme maybe but you could try adding more in. Everyone is different but you may want to check out the menus on pecanbread.com for the stages and the intro diet. The only vegetables I could do for months were baby lima beans (advanced for most), carrots (a lot of people have trouble in the beginning but I've read butternut or acorn squash or pumpkin works for some--not me, even now) and bell pepper (steamed and peeled). Sometimes it takes awhile to find one or two of each food group and do a rotation diet. Add one new item, give it four days to see if there are symptoms and try it again. If it doesn't work, wait until later to try again or add it as a staple if it doesn't bother you at all. Also, one of the moderators, Kim M. I think says with problems, first pull the supplements and add them back in like the foods to see if that is a problem. Keep a food diary so you can see what works and what doesn't. That includes physical and emotional symptoms if you really want to get a handle on it. There's a website you can enter your menu like fitday.com to see where you need more fats, proteins, etc. and that is very helpful to begin with and later down the line. If you can get a basic menu down to get everything settled, you can branch your way out from there. It may take several months or it may just be a matter of following the stages. The first few months, I ate the same thing and kept a big pot of chicken soup as a go-to for snacks. I don't think everyone has the same experience--I just had to start out very slow but everything got better instantly. It was just a matter of finding more food I could handle. The moderators will have more information for you. Hope this helps, it's early lol. Debbie 40 cd scd originally 12/
