Guest guest
Alyssa, I personally love your thinking here, but I have no experience to comment on it...I'm waiting to hear other's opinions, too! :)Okay. Well thanks anyways! It's still nice to hear SOME response, even if it's not an answer =) Pour Dieu, pour terre,Alyssa 15UC April 2008, diagnosed Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)No meds except for the stupid iron pill I have to take that is SO illegal

Guest guest
But don't forget you need some carbs to feed your brain!!! So don't eliminate them altogether. We're called specific carb diet for a reason and not "no carb or low carb diet". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1216768/Why-women-men-horror-films-scary-pain-really-mind-.htmlGlucose is the brain's only food and the brain is by far the body's hungriest organ. Though it accounts for just 2 per cent of the body's weight, it requires 20 per cent of its glucose supplies. This is obtained from carbohydrate, which is transported to the brain via the bloodstream. It consumes 420 calories a day - around a fifth of your daily calorie intake. Because the brain can't store glucose, it must be readily available at all times via the blood supply. Without oxygen or glucose, irreparable brain damage occurs after just ten minutes.Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1216768/Why-women-men-horror-films-scary-pain-really-mind-.html#ixzz0SVYY5XNEMaraOn Sep 29, 2009, at 10:09 AM, scd.dieter wrote:Candida has no belly. Theoretically, if there is more food available, it will reproduce faster, so you have more candida to kill.I tried being low-carb for months and also the antifungals. I am still waiting for the test results that would say if I have candida or not.Avocado may be the best fruit, because it contains tons of fat and little sugar, so it does not feed the candida.Cheers!Chronic D, abdominal pain, joint pain, foggy mind, extreme weakness, etc. since 2005SCD April 29Intro May 29Diagnostic of suspected disbyosis on Sept 4Bio, dairy-free, low oxalate SCD Sept 4Nobody else has any input? I'm still kind of confused, and I want to know if you guys think my logic here is all wrong.I've been thinking about starving the yeast by not eating high carbthings. Also about antifungals like garlic and VCO. If you eat enoughraw garlic or VCO, shouldn't it kill the candida regardless of whetherthey are hungry or full?So if I were to eat a banana smoothie with a bunch of VCO in it,wouldn't the candida still die, just with full bellies? I'm stilltrying my best to not feed them, but until I introduce enough fruitsand veggies that won't feed the candida, I'm still having to eatbananas and carrots. So I'm just wondering how that whole trade offworks, between starving them with diet and killing them withantifungals. It seems to me that it would be just them dying with fullbellies vs. them dying hungry, but I'm sure some of you on here haveother thoughts on this. Wouldn't eliminating fruit and honey like everyone's suggesting to get rid of candida also get rid of most if not all digestable carbs? It's harder than you think to eliminate " all " carbs. Even zucchini has them, and winter squashes and carrots and so forth. If you want to look at how touch really eliminating carbs is, do some research on the ketogenic diet, which has been used for treatment of seizures. Guest guest
Also remember that antifungals will kill off a certain amount of beneficial bacteria along with the yeast, so you may not want to use antifungals every day or even every week.I did a bunch of online research last week, and I found sites that said that both VCO and garlic kill only bad bacteria and yeast, and don't affect beneficial bacteria. I posted the sites a few days ago on here, I think. Although I can't be certain that this is true, since it's the internet and all...
