Good God! I was just reading posts, and I took a MAJOR swig of water from my water bottle. Shit. SHit!!! Do you think I did any damage? I don't know how much, but it may have definitely been more than 2 oz!!! It could have been 4 oz. Unbelievable!!!!!! IT was so unconscious.

Help! Has anybody done that so early out of surgery!! I can't believe I am so stupid. Do you think I did anything to my pouch? How would I know???

I'M PANICKING HERE.

RELAX HONEY!!! If your pouch were upset you'd have known it right away,

trust me! No, you did not do anything to your pouch! At least I would

say you didn't, because you haven't mentioned pain, and believe me, if

you screwed up your pouch, you'd HURT! The water just ran right out,

since we no longer have the pyloric valve at the bottom of the stomach,

which keeps regulates how quickly stuff goes out of the pouch. That's

why we are told not to eat and drink, because the drink will wash the

food right on through.

If you can gulp water, that's fine! If you can't, you'll know it! No,

you wouldn't have damaged yourself, but it would have hurt like the dickens!

That help?

Thanks, Eleanor...man, I've been crying, I'm so afraid. It is a bit uncomfortable, but just in a burpy kind of way. Does that mean anything? It doesn't really hurt a lot..Eleanor Oster wrote:

Robynn, if this is your initial email about sipping

too much water then don't worry. Dr. Baggs told me

that water goes through like a funnel and does not sit

there in the pouch. If you hurt something, you would

have felt it right away. Its okay. I don't wait the

10 minutes like they say and it does not bother me and

I get in more than the 64 ounces. Just try to be

mindful but if you had to do something wrong, I'd

rather it be too much water than something like the

wrong food. Take care.
