protein absorbtion from liquids

Very valid question, and one I'm not sure I have an answer for. Perhaps

because the protein is absorbed in the small intestine? What I DO know

is that I know several individuals whose blood tests PROVE that they do

absorb the protein from shakes, far better than they do from food. It's

pretty hard to argue with lab tests.

The other factor, which gets glossed over or ignored, is that, for me

and a lot of others, if I am getting maximum good nutrition, in forms my

body can use, I don't have nearly the problems with cravings. If I'm

taking my vitamins and drinking my protein drinks, it's like my body

KNOWS it's getting the good stuff, and is satisfied. If I start slacking

off on either the vitamins or the shakes, you'd better have a real good

lock on the refrigerator door!

Interesting how many people think we can't possibly get the nutrition

from a protein drink because it's liquid, but then advise us to drink

milk. Slight inconsistency there?
